MidAmerican Nuclear Energy Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, was formed as a business platform to study the feasibility of developing nuclear power plants in the United States.
MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company owns several energy-related companies, including PacifiCorp and its divisions Rocky Mountain Power, Pacific Power and PacifiCorp Energy. MidAmerican continually evaluates ways to provide cost-effective, reliable and environmentally conscious energy, and performs studies on the feasibility of increasing the use of existing proven generating technologies – such as wind, geothermal, biomass and nuclear – as a normal part of business.
